CMS Proposed Rule

The New CMS Proposed Rule

William Dombi

I look forward to welcoming you to the 2018 Financial Management Conference (FMC) in Austin, Texas, July 15-17. Over the past 20 years, financial leaders and owners of home care and hospice agencies from across the country have gathered to learn about the latest trends impacting our industry. This year’s conference is no different.

As I am sure you are aware, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a new proposed rule to make major changes to payment rates in 2019, along with creating a new payment model in 2020. We anticipate these proposals will represent some of the most significant changes in the home health payment system in nearly 20 years.

During this year’s FMC, we will devote part of the Washington Update and the entire Tuesday Open Forum to discussing what this means for the future of home health and address any concerns you may have. We’ve assembled a team of leading home care and hospice experts who will ensure you do not leave FMC without a complete understanding of the proposed rule and what it means for your organization.

While there are many threats to the healthcare industry, I am confident under the leadership of those who attend the Financial Management Conference we are all in good hands.
